Clever Little Tailor

Adelaide

With its beautiful stone walls and massive selection of whisky, Clever Little Tailor is never a bad place to find yourself. The tall ceilings allow space for a whole mezzanine, so there’s plenty of room once you get inside. It’s a very classy joint indeed, and the bartenders are all talented mixologists. Just ask for an Old Fashioned (whiskey, bitters, soda and sugar), and you’ll see what we mean.

“Stopped in to have a drink last night and was really pleased. Friendly staff, good quality wines by the glass, quality munchies (the prosciutto was delicious) and a great atmosphere!” – 4chillis

Lindes Lane

Adelaide

Lindes Lane mixes vintage elegance with a kind of grungy flair, and it’s a really great example of a whole cafe/bar hybrid done right. The beer and wine list is both extensive and expertly chosen, and the food is just amazing. You seriously need to sample the Lemongrass & Ginger Chicken, with herb-steamed rice, carrots, cucumber, and a lovely nuoc cham dressing.

Handsome and the Duchess

Adelaide

This little spot tucked away off Gawler Place is truly a gem worth discovering, if you haven’t already. Handsome & The Duchess excels in fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, and mouth-watering pastries – but everything on the menu is both creative and delicious. The French toast is especially fantastic, drenched in maple syrup and served with poached cherries, mascarpone cream, pistachios and pumpkin seeds. You’ll be going back for seconds, we guarantee it.

“O.M.G! Have you heard of this place? If you haven’t get on it – if you haven’t been then go! If you like amazing coffee and breakfast/brunch – GO! I initially came in thinking to just try the coffee but soon as I saw their food items in the window – I was sold for more! I left the place feeling satisfied and got into work telling my co-workers of this place that they should definitely give it a try!” – xbabydollx

Lady Burra Brewhouse

Adelaide

If you’re looking for a fun laneway venue that isn’t too hard to find, this is the place for you. Lady Burra is a microbrewery sitting right down Topham Mall in the heart of the CBD, and it also functions as an ultra-trendy bar. It serves up both its own craft beers and a range of other drinks from around the world, as well as a yummy menu of bar food, tapas and woodfired pizzas. If you’re feeling brave, ask for the “Lady Michelada” cocktail. That’s tequila, tobacco, tomato, lime and pilsner. Fortune favours the bold.

“Well, the craft-beer bar has well and truly come to Adelaide. Don’t expect to get your standard beers here because this isn’t that type of bar. They have a menu of beers (and other drinks) to choose from, and I ended up having the IPA (though I always find it a hard choice when there is such a selection). Mind you, their beers are pretty strong, so be warned.” – David Sarkies
