Spectacular New Year’s Eve Hotspots in Adelaide

December is a busy time of year, and if you’ve been too caught up with Christmas to even think about your New Year’s Eve plans, don’t worry. We’ve done the hard work for you, and picked the first best spots around Adelaide to ring in the new year. Have fun!

Elder Park

New Year’s Eve at Elder Park is a bona fide festival, featuring everything from music and amazing fireworks to food and market stalls. It’s always a lively, bustling event with no shortage of things to see, do and taste, and it’s tons of fun to simply wander about and soak up the party atmosphere. Trust us – this is one NYE you’ll never forget.

If you fancy a meal beforehand, there’s plenty of options around. We’d recommend Jolleys Boathouse Restaurant, Sean’s Kitchen, or The Federal for a flavoursome treat.

Victoria Square

Do you like to be right in the thick of the action? Then it’s off to Victoria Square with you, you party animal! The stunningly refurbished city centre fills up fast on New Year’s Eve, but it’s the only place to be if you want to get right underneath the spectacular fireworks and see them up close.

You might need a food break, of course (you’re only human, even if you are an absolute madman), and The Taxpayers, Laksa House and The Collins Bar are always happy to help.

Windy Point Lookout

It’s one of the most romantic places in all of Adelaide, so we could hardly leave Windy Point Lookout off the list. This elevated vantage point gives you an awesome view of the city and its various firework displays, and it’s just perfect for a quieter kind of evening spent with someone special. Park up and settle in!

Windy Point Restaurant’s 180-degree glass windows mean you can tuck into a nice duck leg without missing out on the sights. Eire Cafe and Sheoak Cafe are also well worth a peek.

Brighton Beach

Brighton Beach likes to go full-on family fun-fest for New Year’s Eve, so grab the kids and head on down. Entertainment comes courtesy of Timomatic, The Cast, DJ Jacki J and Ripley, and there’s plenty of cool activities to keep the young’uns busy until the big fireworks extravaganza at 9:30pm.

Kids tend to require absurd amounts of food, but Enuf Burger Bar and Brighton Beach Pit are certainly up to the task. If they can handle something a bit spicier, try In Thais Cafe & Noodle Bar.
