Make Reviews Work for Your Business

Untitled-1

How do reviews affect your business?

People trust the opinion of others and like to hear what they say about a business before using it. They also like to share their own experiences too. Not only do reviews help potential customers make informed decisions, they also provide your business with valuable feedback and a way for you to showcase your customer skills.

We found that True Local business listings with up to 5 reviews can get up to 5 times more views than those with none*. That’s a lot more people looking at your business!

The best thing about reviews for your business is the exposure. Whether it’s good or bad, earning more reviews will lead people to your website and social pages, thus helping to spread the word.

How can I encourage more reviews?

Although a lot of people read reviews, but only a minority write them. You might be able to encourage more by:

  • Responding to reviews – if a reviewer sees their effort is appreciated, they might feel even better about your business, and help to spread the word.
  • Getting social – Let your customers know that you’re on True Local by posting a link to yo your listing. Your reviewers are likely to be following your social pages, so keep in touch with them and you might even want to share a few great reviews too.
  • Using your True Local Rate & Review cards
  • Just ask! – at the end of a transaction, mention you’d really appreciate their feedback by writing a review on your True Local listing.

How do I know when someone has written a review on my business listing and can I respond?

When you manage a business listing on True Local, you’ll receive email alerts whenever a new review about your business is published. You will also be able to respond to reviews by leaving a comment.

How should I handle negative reviews?

It’s best responding to a negative review straight away by adding a comment under their review explaining your side of the story, in a factual and professional way. It gives potential customers a glimpse of your customer service skills.
