Out With The Cold, In With The 5 Hottest Indoor Activities In Melbourne
As Ned Stark is so fond of saying, winter is coming. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun! There’s plenty of things to do in Melbourne without exposing yourself to the fearsome elements. Here are some of our favourites.
Ice Skating

O’Brien Group Arena
Nothing says winter like ice skating. And whether you want to skate to one song and one song only like Will Ferrell in Blades of Glory, or channel those childhood memories of The Mighty Ducks, O’Brien Group Arena is the place to do it. It’s one of Australia’s very best ice skating centres, with equipment hire and skate sessions for all ages. They also do learn to skate classes, curling, hockey, speed skating and figure skating, so your options are plentiful indeed.

You can also take their unique Bounce Fitness classes, which offers a fun and intense cardio workout. Oh, and did we mention trampoline dodgeball? You can totally play trampoline dodgeball.
“A lot more fun than I expected! Had to get over the initial social anxiety of being judged by all the kids and their parents, but there are actually plenty of adults participating. Couldn’t even jump for my full hour though, got too tired!” – Littleberk
Laser Tag

Laser Zone
Ahh, the classic rainy day standby! Laser Zone is Melbourne’s leading laser tag battlefield, recently refurbished to sport a slick new look, state-of-the-art gear, eight ramps and four massive towers. It supports a whopping 35 players at any one time, and you can hire the place out for your mates or simply turn up and show the general public your sick pew-pew skills.
