Mother’s Day is just around the corner, which means it’s time to show Mum how much she means to you. Try taking her to brekkie or brunch at one of these top spots – you’ll be the favourite child in no time.
Little Willys is a cosy little cafe with comfy booths and loads of cool artwork adoring the walls. You’ll probably have to make a reservation here for Mother’s Day, but it’s definitely worth the effort. The staff are always great, the coffee is divine, and the food is on point. We’d highly recommend the Vego Bagel for something light, or their famous breakfast burrito if you’re looking for something a bit more substantial.

With its prime CBD location, the award-winning La Veen is a super-swanky place to take Mum for a treat. This award-winning cafe is set in a beautiful old heritage building, and prides itself on serving up some seriously high-end grub. Try the shakshuka, which is slow-cooked eggs with tomato, onion, capsicum, dukkah, and a delectably creamy yoghurt sauce.

If Mum fancies a quieter bite in South Perth, Gusto Food is the perfect spot. This cafe is known for great value and super service, as well as its gorgeous house-made crumpets. You won’t find anything else quite like them anywhere in Perth, and there’s a reason people can’t stop raving about them. Pop in and give them a taste!
“Absolutely perfect!!! And I am not even exaggerating – the prices are fair, they give you massive portions and you’ll certainly leave the door feeling satisfied and blessed. The homemade crumpets is their special and can only be found in this cafe so grab a taste and change your life! Brought my friend who also couldn’t believe how incredible the food and taste was. Can’t wait to go again!” – isabelle981
A North Beach institution, Tropico is a bright and breezy breakfast joint with a wholesome, healthy philosophy. It’s strictly walk-in only, so there’s a good chance you’ll be able to grab a table for Mother’s Day if you rock up early. It’s worth a go, as the banoffee pancakes here are utterly divine. They come with fresh banana, banana compote, butterscotch, and even some caramelised popcorn.

If there’s one thing mums love, it’s a good book. Millpoint Caffe Bookshop brings you the best of both food and literature, all wrapped up in a lushly lavender building just two minutes from the South Perth foreshore. You could spend ages just sipping tea and browsing, but make sure you sample the French toast with berry compote, lemon & vanilla mascarpone, and Persian fairy floss.
“Good food, nice lunch time ambiance. limited parking around the back. Try the stacked burger voucher in entertainment book.” – Dan1974
