Looking to impress a date by taking them to an awesome new eatery they’ve never visited before? Or maybe you want to casually mention to your co-workers how you’ve “just been to a brand-new restaurant, yeah, you’ve probably never heard of it…” (#humblebrag)? We’ve got you covered with our list of the best new foodie hotspots in Perth – all you need to do is check them out!
Mayfair Lane is a warm and friendly British-style gastropub that prides itself on whipping up tasty, innovative dishes. It’s become a real favourite since its November launch, and you’ll definitely want to sample the goat’s cheese ‘cigars’. They’re little parcels stuffed with cherry tomatoes, bean fondue, yellow peppers and onion jam. Lovely jubbly, as Jamie Oliver might say!
It’s only been open since October, but Billie H. has already become a Claremont establishment. The cool, moody lighting, pleasant outdoor space and seemingly endless wine selection won us over from the start, and that was before we’d even tried the food! Order up some honey-glazed pork loin with pear and parsnip butter, and it’ll turn around even the gloomiest Sunday.
Varsity Bar’s cold beer and hearty American feasts have kept the people of Nedlands happy for years, and now Waterford can enjoy it too! The new branch opened for business in October, and it’s quickly established itself as the area’s leading sports bar. The food is fantastic, ranging from wings to burgers to pizzas, and we’d highly recommend the ribs with backyard barbecue sauce. Then just settle in to watch your favourite teams go at it – sounds like the perfect summer arvo to us!
Monsterella is far from your average pizza joint. Everything here is crafted completely by hand, with dough risen naturally for 48 hours and all pizza sauce made from Sicilian San Marzano tomatoes. This place is the real deal, and it shows in every delectable bite. We particularly love the Milliano, featuring buffalo mozzarella, Italian fennel sausage, onions, oregano, pecorino and truffle oil. What can we say – it’s got a real pizza our heart.
It’s never a bad thing when a new deli appears, and this one’s deli-cious. Rockefeller serves up exceptional New York fare, including bagels, hotdogs, sandwiches, burgers, and even a selection of wholesome main courses. It’s all expertly made from the very best ingredients, and it really shows. If you’re not sure where to start, go for the pastrami on rye with house-made crisps and pickle.
