Best Place for Bronuts
Bright, friendly and very big on locally sourced ingredients, Wild Bakery is a beloved Fremantle institution. There’s always a wealth of fresh, delectable goodies on display, but the ‘bronuts’ are particularly yummy. They’re plump, dreamily soft brioche donuts rocking a new filling every week, so it’s wise to stop by often. Otherwise you’ll always wonder what you might’ve missed…

Best Place for Pain Au Chocolat
A lot of bakeries across the world aspire towards authentically French flavours, but very few truly achieve them. We’re proud to have one right here in our own backyard! Choux Cafe is the premier choice for many in search of quality baguettes, pastries and quiches. It serves up the most delicious Pain au Chocolat in Perth without any doubt, so head down and give it a taste!
“Just a small shop hidden away in the leafy suburb, Choux houses a variety of French pastries and other breakfast / lunch-style items. With a homey vibe, customers can choose from croissants, pies, baguettes, macaroons; as well as many other sweet delicacies. A great place to check out if you’re on holiday or a fantastic place to stop in to.” – Stefanie Reilly
Best Place for Cupcakes
Let’s zip across the Atlantic to the Big Apple. Sherbet is a New York-inspired dedicated boutique cupcake bakery, and it’s a very lovely place to find yourself. Flavours range from coffee and vanilla to banana and caramel, but we reckon you simply can’t beat the sumptuous rocky road variety. Marshmallow, chocolate and nuts? This is how cupcakes were meant to be!
“Sherbet set a standard when it first opened and hasn’t varied from that. Yesterday bought cup cakes for a luncheon at home – wonderful variety so each guest had a different one. All delicious. I have eaten there a few times now for breakfast, morning tea, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea and always enjoyed the food. #reviewtowin” – Jamall
Best Place for Flans
Jaylea’s is the kind of family-owned venture that really makes Perth tick, and its top-class range of gourmet pies have made it very famous over the last decade or so. Of course, it’s certainly no slouch in the sweets department either, and its mini strawberry flan is a real crowd pleaser. It’s a glorious mass of crumbly pastry, strawberries and creamy custard, and is basically just amazing.
Don’t forget to leave Jaylea’s a quick review.
Best Place for Crossaints
There’s something about family bakeries that really sets them apart. That’s not the only reason we loving Tammy’s though. This bakery is revered amongst bread-heads for the freshness, healthiness and beautifully balanced flavours of its loaves, and applies those same traits to its sweeter output, too. The croissants are flaky, buttery joys to devour, and you’d be a fool to pass them up.
