Cuckoo Callay

Newtown

We all need to go a little cuckoo sometimes – and what better place to do so than Newtown’s incredible Cuckoo Callay. This quirky, stylish café boasts hearty grub (beer-battered chips, squishy mac ‘n’ cheese, and plenty of crispy bacon), with a pretty cool cocktail menu to boot. The ‘Frozé’ is rosé wine with strawberry, rose water, watermelon and basil, and it’s simply wonderful. Pass us another glass, please!

“This place is fantastic!! I had the crab cake dish for lunch and it was amazing. Such interesting and unique flavour combinations and best of all, it all tasted great! Great atmosphere and friendly staff.” – ShrimpyNoodle

Poolside Cafe

Sydney

You can’t beat a glass of wine by the pool on a hot summer’s day – especially when that pool also has fabulous views across Sydney Harbour. With great food, top service and an unbeatable location, Poolside Cafe really does have it all. And it does a pretty great cocktail too. The ‘So Frenchy Frosé’ is made of rosé and St Germain, finished off with a winning mix of fresh strawberries and ice. Who could say no to that?

“Great service with nice atmosphere. I would recommend this cafe to everyone.” – Sudhirpan

The Port

Darling Harbour

When you’ve got a hot date to impress and a share pack of chips from the local takeaway just won’t cut it (we learned that the hard way), The Port is the place for you. Gazing out over Darling Harbour, it’s the perfect spot for a classy seafood lunch. They also have an awesome wine and cocktails list, and their frosé is a thing of beauty. It’s a blend of Cake rosé, sweet vermouth and strawberry puree, and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. We’re sure your date will appreciate it too.

Kensington Street Social

Chippendale

Suave, spacious and oozing with contemporary European style, Kensington Street Social is an awesome place to find yourself any day of the week. But if you’re free on the weekend, why not drop by and check out their Social Sundays? There’s a great brunch on offer, and you can wash it all down with frosé cocktails and ‘bottomless’ sparkling wine. Sounds like a great Sunday sesh to us!

“Nice place for lunch. Great menu selection and great service. Staff are really nice and helpful and accommodating. I very much enjoyed my main dish chicken with veggies. Nice mix of flavours, wasn’t dry and the juices of the veggies went well with the meat. Although located in NSW, it’s definitely a great recommendation so i will be back when i get the opportunity.” – pepperpots
