We all need to go a little cuckoo sometimes – and what better place to do so than Newtown’s incredible Cuckoo Callay. This quirky, stylish café boasts hearty grub (beer-battered chips, squishy mac ‘n’ cheese, and plenty of crispy bacon), with a pretty cool cocktail menu to boot. The ‘Frozé’ is rosé wine with strawberry, rose water, watermelon and basil, and it’s simply wonderful. Pass us another glass, please!

When you’ve got a hot date to impress and a share pack of chips from the local takeaway just won’t cut it (we learned that the hard way), The Port is the place for you. Gazing out over Darling Harbour, it’s the perfect spot for a classy seafood lunch. They also have an awesome wine and cocktails list, and their frosé is a thing of beauty. It’s a blend of Cake rosé, sweet vermouth and strawberry puree, and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. We’re sure your date will appreciate it too.
