Had a ruff day? There’s no better pick-me-up than a nice meal out with your best mate. Here are the best spots in Sydney to sit down for a feed with your fave furry friend.
Cafe Bones is pure doggy heaven. It’s a friendly kiosk in a park where dogs are free to scamper off the leash, as well as tuck into some first-rate treats. Gourmet dog biscuits and the famous puppacino should see your pooch thoroughly satisfied, and you yourself should definitely try the “Big Dog BLT”. That’s bacon, lettuce and tomato on a Turkish roll with spicy chilli jam – and we guarantee your dog won’t be the only one drooling!
“Good place to come with your dog. Treats for you and them, more dog parks in Sydney could learn from this place.” – Macklin
A fresh and inviting Glenhaven cafe, The Tuckshop is known for all-day breakfast, kickass burgers, and a winning attitude towards our cuddly canine companions. There’s a big, open deck area where dogs are very welcome, and you could quite happily spend all day simply lazing about and sipping coffee. However, we recommend you also get your mouth around one of their chicken burgers. With fried chicken breast, wasabi aioli, Asian slaw and mango chutney, it’s out of this world.
“One of the best burgers around! Nice, squishy buns, fresh produce and an ever-changing, interesting menu – I love this place! Carries on the awesomeness of The Baron but with a casual dining and healthy vibe. Just a generally awesome vibe – great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch.. any and every time, really.” – anytiffng
With live music, markets and even a basketball court, there’s always something going on at The Vic on the Park. The food is fantastic, and the Tandoori Lamb Backstrap is a particular favourite (served with rocket, almonds, goat cheese, green beans, dried apricots and garlic mint yoghurt). Better still, you can bring your dog along and snap a pic for their Instagram with the hashtag #dogsofthevic. Insta-fame for your pupper is just around the corner!
“Nice hearty pub in Marrickville. Had a really good live band set playing out the back when I was there and the food was tasty.” – Anna9003
Social Hideout is a cosy haven of gorgeous food and some of the most amazing milkshakes (or “cake shakes”) you’ll ever set eyes on. It’s one of Parramatta’s ultimate brunch joints, with a friendly atmosphere and loads of outdoor seating for you and your pooch. Plus, the waitstaff love dogs, and they’ll even bring over water and a bowl for your pup! For a yummy bite, go for the Big Haloumi Salad with house dressing. Because you can never go wrong with haloumi. #truefacts
“It has a really nice feel to it upon arriving, outdoor cottage style seating, artificial plants and bench tables. I really like the styling. There’s a huge menu, so many breakfast options like banana and Nutella hotcakes, mini burgers, hot pot, Arabian Board and the avocado smash and Bircher sounded and looked Amazing. However, I went with the French toast, how could I not!” – Kurt & Sarah C
