Grandma’s Bar

Sydney

Grandma is generally not the first thing you think of when you think of vodka. Still, thanks to Grandma’s Bar, they’re a phenomenal! This homely, wonderfully jumbled little joint has a real flair for cocktails, and the ‘Rhythm & Booze’ is definitely our favourite vodka offering. It’s mixed with watermelon, lemon and passionfruit syrup, and is endlessly drinkable.

“This hidden gem in Sydney is a wonderful little hideout. Quirky, dated decor and a huge range of creative and inspired cocktails make this bar a little more spectacular than the average. Well located, Fair prices and excellent service!” – AlouiseD

Eau de Vie

Darlinghurst

Eau de Vie is an elegant, richly decorated temple of top-shelf booze, boasting over 500 different spirits. The cocktails are as opulent as the plush leather sofas, and we’d particularly like to recommend the Blueberry Pancake Sling. That’s Granola-infused vodka, blueberry-spruced riesling, maple syrup and soda, with a flash-frozen vanilla and saffron ice cream cone on top! Marvellous.

“Not the easiest place to find, hidden out the back of a hotel, you’ll be taken away by the 1920’s decor, and the cocktail list is magical. So much so that Eau De Vie is my choice for a cocktail lounge in Sydney. The service is spot on, with the waitress always knowing my choice of cocktail. definitely one to visit” – beanboy

Rosebery

Just a few feet from its famous distillery, Archie Rose bar is an oak-panelled, expertly staffed goldmine of local booze. This is a place where true aficionados will feel right at home, although anyone is welcome to stop by and appreciate the good stuff. Try the Tickled Pink cocktail, which is a fruity blend of Archie Rose Original Vodka, strawberry juice, citrus and pomegranate molasses.

“The bartenders here are so good and clearly passionate about what they do. I had one of the best gin cocktails I have ever had here. The place is cool, very hipster.” – Miss Forster

Different Drummer

Glebe

Different Drummer is always a fun place to be. The wall of schlocky old b movie posters is a source of endless amusement (ever seen The Glory Stompers? Instant classic), and the soft, reddish glow creates an alluringly playful atmosphere. As for cocktails, go for the Passionfruit Collins, comprised of 42 Below Passionfruit Vodka, lemon, soda and passionfruit juice. Deeelicious.

“One of the friendliest funnest bars around. A good place to go if you’re on your own and want to meet people, or for a late night drink as they’re open later than anywhere else in the area. Really friendly bar staff and a great selection of cocktails/spirits etc. Let them pick something for you.” – angegraham
