NOLA

Adelaide

With over 75 different Australian and American whiskeys on offer, it’s fairly safe to assume you’ll find something to tickle your fancy at this lively, New Orleans-style bistro. On the sweeter side of things, the cocktails here are well worth a try, with the Old Fashioneds and Mint Juleps mingling particularly nicely with the hearty Creole-Cajun grub. Find out more

“Their selection of whisky is actually quite extra-ordinary, to the point that if you are into whiskey then you are going to be really spoilt for choice (as was the case with me and the craft beer)” – David Sarkies

The Collins Bar

Adelaide

The Collins Bar is the brainchild of multi-award-winning superstar bartender Grant Collins, a man so decorated that anything he touches turns to liquid gold. This slick, contemporary establishment very much befits its CBD location, and serves up many of the finest whiskies around. The bourbon-based Deep South Sour in particular is a cocktail to savour, bursting with cool, rosemary freshness. Find out more

“This is a huge improvement over the previous bar. Great atmosphere even though you’re in a hotel. Excellent cocktails.” – 4chillis

Rob Roy

Rob Roy Hotel

Adelaide

Rob Roy isn’t just the second oldest hotel in South Australia; it’s also Adelaide’s Number One malt whisky venue. With an absolutely enormous selection to dazzle even the most well-travelled tongues, they’ve got whiskies from all over the world. We particularly like the Glenmorangie Original 10yo but if you consider yourself a true whisky lover, the whisky degustation is where it’s at. Find out more

“Great pub with friendly staff. Excellent location and nothing better than sitting outside this pub on a Friday afternoon. Good prices and lots of benefits for members.” – Brocky88

Fumo Blue
Fumo Blue

Adelaide

Starting out as a fancy cigar lounge (way back in 2000), Fumo Blu is flourishing these days as a suave, 50s-style cocktail bar. It’s packing a delightful bounty of Scottish, Irish, American and Japanese whiskies. We found it hard to choose between the Japanese Yamakazi, Lagavulin 16yo and Jameson 12yo, so we had all three as part of their whisky flight program! Find out more

“Been here a couple of times for cocktails – and yes they do do good cocktails! – but the most recent outing was for a friends Hens night. We all had a ball. We had a section/booth prebooked and the process of booking that and ordering pizzas and food and jugs of drinks were good. Very helpful and friendly staff. All the girls including myself had a real fun and enjoyable night!!” – xbabydollx

Gondola Gondola

Adelaide

Although Scotland, Ireland and America might spring to mind when you first think of whisky, Asia has joined the game and is becoming more well known. Gondola Gondola is a funky Vietnamese joint that’s doing everything right. In particular, the “Notice Me Senpai” (similar to an Old Fashioned) ticked all the boxes. Don’t be surprised if this place quickly becomes your new favourite whisky joint! Find out more
