Forget dinner and a show for your next date, because at Midori Teppanyaki dinner IS the show! Despite what mum always told you about not playing with your food, these theatrical master Japanese chefs throw around your dinner with precision, and it turns out to be darn tasty too. Wash it down with a cocktail, or try some Japanese sake. Overall it makes for a pretty memorable date – now it’s only up to you to be just as memorable (no pressure!)

What could be more romantic than stargazing with your main boo? Less than half an hour out of the city, astronomers are sharing their nerdish passion for space with anyone who has even a passing interest in those twinkling balls of gas in the sky we call stars. Winter is the best time for observing our southern skies, and these guys certainly show off planets, stars, and the many other wonders of our universe. If you’re really lucky, you can even wish upon a star!

Step below ground and be whisked away to a wonderland of cocktail delights and wondrous treasures to behold. Bobeche is a magical little small bar, the perfect spot for you and your date to warm up with a teapot of cocktail deliciousness. Their fine concoctions hail from the golden era of cocktails and focus on honing and perfecting the original deal than messing with a classic too much. With a lively and sophisticated vibe, try to snap up a spot on one of the leather couches in the corner for the best seat in the house.

Elegant without being stuffy, rustic without looking worn out, The Cabin Small Bar provides an intimate atmosphere to take your date to enjoy a lovely selection of share plates. The cold doesn’t deter the folks here, with a toasty warm fireplace inside as well as outdoor heating on the wrap-around balcony.
“Went to The Cabin on Sat night and loved it! Has a real cosy, lounge room feel to it as well as a great balcony to enjoy the views! The menu was great, with mostly shared options but some good substantial stuff as well. Great wine list and cocktails that were 11bucks! Service was great, not too intrusive but always there when you needed them.” – perthrocks
Ordinarily we wouldn’t recommend reminding someone of how old they are when on a date (poor form, dude) but this is perhaps the one exception where it’s ok. At Rolloways Leisure Centre, get retro and relive the rush of wind and speed that came from your rollerskates as a kid. If you’re a little rusty, that’s even better! It’s the perfect excuse for you and your sweetheart to get even closer together.
