It wasn't all bad. The two movers were really helpful, hardworking and made the move go smoothly. The management was pretty dire. I rang to confirm my booking and the owner of another franchise (who was filling in while the one I'd booked was on holiday) had no record of my booking. He took the booking details again then texted me on the morning of my booking to say he'd had a mover call in sick and was offering me an extra mover for an additional cost. I accepted but was informed by a relative helping with my move that this was a common 'operating procedure'. We told the owner we weren't happy and keen to pay the extra but when the owner rang and gave me an earful about how he was helping me, we agreed the third man would stay m, I'd pay the extra charge and we'd just aim for a faster faster move. Then an hour later Christian whipped the 3rd man off the job without speaking to me effectively withdrawing the agreement. Bad business. Hope he pays hisread more
I had an excellent experience using 1800 Move It. The two guys that came to do my medium-sized move were very friendly, worked hard and got the job done quickly. I was impressed with the care they took with my belongings. I would have no hesitation in using this company again.
We recently moved a 4 bedroom house using 1800-move-it.
I would not recemmend them.
As soon as the truck turned up I knew it wouldn't be big enough, despite them being advised how much stuff we had. I ended up having to rent a truck to carry the excess - so not only was there an added expense there, it also meant that the time I spent getting and returning the truck I couldn't help the removalists with loading and unloading, thereby increasing the number of hours it took to do the job. All up it probably cost us about $500 in truck rental and extra hours. And we asked for 3 men, but only 2 bothered to show up. The 2 that did show up worked hard for the 11 hours they were there.
We are sorry to hear that your experience was unsatisfactory. Whilst we regret that our third employee on this given day did let our company down, we did accomplish the job on the given day and as you stated the two boys that were there did work extremely hard to get your job done. We disagree that the job cost you more than it should have, given the fact that you were only charged a two man rate not our three man rate. Yes, the job did take longer but given the reduced rate, the overall cost is effectively the same. In regard to the size of the truck we cannot guarantee that all jobs can be completed in one load and given the very short distance between your pick up and destination addresses, the only additional time taken if one more trip was required, was 10 minutes travel time.
We endeavour to satisfy all clients who move with us... approximately 30 houses per week and do regret on the rare occasion where we are let down by a staff member.
