We called ABA plumbing to investigate a gas leak at our property, they sent their technician out on the 5th of April who identified a dodgy pipe and installed a new one for $515, assuring us the leak was fixed and system was holding pressure, great news! Expensive for a 20cm piece of copper but if the problem is solved we were happy to cop it. Unfortunately the pipe wasn’t the issue, with the same smell and leak still existing in the house. We called them back for a second time and the same technician confirmed a leak but could not identify where it was coming from, on the 21st of April, he quoted us $5000 (verbally) to replace the gas line and proceeded to shut off the gas supply to the property. I was charged $750 for a kitchen tap and 2 seals installed. When I was quoted this I was informed that'd I'd have to pay a fee if I didn't decide to go ahead with the work and was pressured into accepting. The job took less than 1 hour. The plumber was also flicking his cigarette butts on my doorstep.

Their customer service is difficult to deal with and rude. They do not return calls and do not act in good faith. More than a month after the work was done I still have not received an itemised invoice for the work done even after multiple requests.

This was my experience with ABA Plumbing. Choose this company at your own risk.

Misleading website No Call out fees

Misleading website with ridiculous service. Would never recommend to anyone. Although their website says “No call out fee” BE-AWARE – I had to pay $69 call out fee for just getting a rubbish quote. I got a quote for a job over $3000 and lucky I didn’t get it done through them. I tried a different plumber who got the job done for $1600! Just half price. I guess there are some people who just rely on giving unrealistic quotes and make money by doing no plumbing work at all. If you actually don’t have “No call out fees” -get rid of it from the ad/website.

Be sure to get a quote from these guys. They charged me $200 ($180 + gst) per hour to install a HWS . Just went and hired tools they didn’t have to complete the job @ $144 per day( used it for 10 mins) . Didn’t advise ..Had to go get the tool and the parts - charging me $200 per hour to do so. Tool and two joiners $280. Total price was $960. For install only all they had to do was connect the HWS which was 1 m away from gas pipe and 1/2 m from water
I thought I would provide someone local the work.

I also asked them to review the price and didn’t.
This was a booked in install so not an emergency service.
