Able Hawkesbury River Houseboats

Awul awful awful. This is a terrible service. Rude, very badly kept boats, expensive and the staff are unusually un-helpful.

AVOID. Appalling state. Seats (beds) need serious upholstery. Supplied kitchen utencils and drinking glasses were a mismatch and cracked novelty glasses.



In earnestness, we could forgive the boats to a degree, if the prices weren't so steep, and they showed some care in their business.



Extra $10 for parking your car/per night. What? Extra $25 to put a motor on the tender. Glutinous prices for gas and fuel.



And there's the problem with the water. We had no water all night. 'Bung pump' we were told when we bought the vessel back 6 hours early. Hardly an apology and they had to be threatened with legal action before they acquiesced to offering up a part refund. I can't really blame them for the pump. 'Things happen', but if only the boats were better and the care was there, we probably wouldn't have argued the toss. Stay away. stay away stay away.

I was not happy with this service. They charge you extra for everything. The house boats are already very expensive for what you get. They told us it sleeps ten people but there were only 3 beds. The rest of us had to sleep on tiny seats which was pretty much impossible. They charged us $1660 for one day and you cant even connect an iPod anywhere on the boat which is old and worn down. Then another $29 per hour we spent driving the house boat. And then charged us extra $10 bux per car for parking plus $50 for Ice!!! On top of this they were not helpful and quite rude.



I would not recommend this company. Its a waste of time and money.

The experience of using this service was greatly disappointing. Customers are required to pay additional charges which are identified on the back of contracts (some of which include $10 per day car parking and fuel surcharges). In addition to this, there is a $2500 excess for insurance claims. We almost were held liable for a "missing" dingy which was brought back to the site by the company... needless to say, AVOID this service.
