Hidden on the third floor of a building on the Queen Street Mall is a treasure trove of books, games, and comics for the hardened geek. I had paid this place a visit before when I was in Brisbane and decided to come and check it out again just as a reminder of this geekland in the middle of Brisbane. Ace doesn't discriminate it has comic books, roleplaying gear, cards games, and an assortment of other things, including t-shirts. They also have a space set up for those who want to spend a few hours pretending to be heroes from other worlds, or simply playing a quick game of cards. Mind you it is pretty small, but don't let it's size decieve you because it has lots of things (though its collection is unfortunately exhaustive). It is probably not the place to go to hunt down that missing comic, or out of print roleplaying books, but it still has a lot to offer. The best this is that it is located in the heart of the city. It can be a bit tricky to get to though since you do have toread more
I have always been very happy with the level of service and support I have received when visiting ACE comics & games (Brisbane). On my most recent visit I was completely blown away by the young man who was serving. I had come in after donating blood to pick up some magic cards when I started to feel unwell. The ACE retail assistant noticed and brought me a chair and a glass of water. He then proceeded to talk with me and make sure that I was feeling better before I left.
Total waste of time - both phones go through to fax, and I visited the Annerley shop in person last week and it's all shut up, with no indication when it may even be open. Returned three times - total time-waster! I'd give it no stars if I could.
So you missed the sign on the door with opening hours that has been there at least 6 years???
