A review for the AWLQ located in Willawong QLD rather than the Coombabah Shelter:
Absolutely amazing staff, some of who actually care about the animals. As a former foster carer, it's difficult seeing staff turnover where good ones go and ok ones come, but it's good to know that the care of the animals are still paramount. The AWLQ were (and I believe still are) a 'no kill' shelter, so this in itself is the best promotional line. Costs to adopt are reasonable and there are many 'full pedigree' animals that come through their doors. ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!
I purchased my american staffy as a rescue dog from the AWL at Coombabah over 4 years ago and I use the vet clinic to maintain my dog's health and wellbeing. All staff, whether they work in the front office, rehoming area, shop or community vet assistance, give excellent service and I would not consider taking my dog to any other facility. I have complete confidence in the advice and guidance given and can genuniely recommend all services to others. Thank you for your wonderful work!
Great veterinary clinic working as part of the Animal Welfare League of Qld. They treat all their animals with such care. The dog we adopted was originally picked up as a stray & bought to the AWL. He was checked thoroughly for any health problems. He had a minor umbilical hernia they mended, was desexed, and all his worming, flea treatment & shots up to date. I'd have no hesitation in bringing him back here for any problems or checkups.
