This is another one of those out of the way pubs that I really like. Okay, it was somewhat of a hike to get to, but honestly, it was really worth it. The place was quiet and rather relaxed, but then again that may have had something to do with it being a Sunday evening when I was here. Still, the place had a charm that I really liked, and it also had quite a nice beer garden. Oh, and decent beers on tap also works with me.
Came here for Burgers By Josh which is located in the Annandale Hotel on Parramatta Road. It seems to be a permanent fixture here as started as a pop up but still there.
Make your order at the bar, make payment and they’ll give you a buzzer to collect your food. Choice of indoor seating in the restaurant or pub areas and there is also outside seating but not sure you can eat out there as smoking is permitted outside. Service was quite friendly and quick.
I couldn’t go past trying their Infamous Primo and upgraded my old bay seasoned fries to Mac N Cheese Chips. The burger was a mouthful with juicy wagyu beef patties, bacon, cheese, onion rings, lettuce, and jalapeños on a soft potato bun. I enjoyed eating it a lot and glad I didn’t eat much earlier in the day. The sauce on the burger had a bit of a spicy kick at the end. The mac n cheese fries were good but wish it was saucier inside.
The pub was good. I was really looking forward to burgers by Josh here, however they were nothing special. Made for the photos and instagram rather than actualy taste. The chips were not hot enough and the halloumi chips tasted just like a deep fried packet of salt.
