I would have to say the best charter company in Darwin. Best local knowledge you can get and fantastic bunch of guys. Everything from the booking to the charter itself was a as good as it gets. I have to say the hardest working deckies who keep that boat clean and always make it a fun day out. I have been out with these guys a few times and every time I am never disappointed with the service. Some days the fishing can be hard but I guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching. Other days the fishing has been some of the best I have ever seen in Darwin and I have lived here for 7 years. These guys are the go-to-guys with the local knowledge.
Went on a full day charter, there were a few nice fish caught but that was the extent of the positively of the day. I have been fishing for 40 odd years and been on plenty of great charters and they should be for the money they cost, didn\'t even catch a lot of fish on some of the best ones, its not just the fishing its the hole package. When booking with Arafura we were informed just turn up as everything supplied. brekkie, smoko and lunch. Tea and coffee, cold water on board and if you wanted beer or soft drink you were to bring your own. Turn up to boat, yes tea and coffee was supplied, but it appears it is just a solitary jug of hot water which is boiled before they leave the dock. I was last to the jug, nope pretty much a dry argument there, Oh well ill just have a cup of cold water, bugger they fill it up from a garden hose, tastes like c**p but I spose its wet. The Brekkie and smoko were fine, we had meat and salad wraps for lunch and they were all water loggedread more
Went on a charter with 7 close friends of mine and decided to try a different charter operator. Well the price was about 30% more expensive than the rest, i was bitterly disappointed with the overall charter. For starters, the boat was great, Captain was average and the decky was a a Little unpleasant. I have been fishing for most of my life and to go out on a 4 days expedition and catch Bat fish and Sharks was a joke. The Captain had no idea on where to fish and never gave us a chance to fish. about 80% of the time was moving around. I understand moving is part of the adventure, but he made moves after 1 out of the 7 caught a decent fish. What made me mad was when I caught a thump er Coral trout, my mate caught a ripper Spanish Mack and another mate got a nice emperor, all fish fillets had not been accounted for when we got back to melb. The management decided to just take all the quality fish. We all got home and neither of us got any of the fish we caught.read more
