A bunch of us reserved a spot/area at the Barker Hotel for after the Tour Down Under Bupa Challenge. The area itself was tidy and staff were there straight away to assist. The finger foods and canaps we preordered were a little late coming out but when it did and I gave it a try, the items were all pretty yummy :)
Awesome looking place to what it used to be, went there for a birthday staff are great, environment relaxed, Not bad food ( they say they have the best parmey But in my opinion Its not the best in the hills) The one thing that annoyed me a little was when we got our meals they were all randomly given out, some people had even eaten there meal before I got my parmey which is pretty damn slow,
Used to go there on weekends for a drink and a Muck around, I did like that the DJ were fine, the drinks are priced just like any other pub, and the staff are awesome,
Bouncers are good blokes there thats for sure.
-Goodish pub style food-

The Barker is a great place for a drink on friday night. The food is great and the staff are always have a smile on there faces. Sitting back with friends having a drink playing a game of pool. Or dancing the night away on the dance floor with the DJ playing great songs. That make you want to get up and dance.
"Light, Bright, Modern, Bistro"
The Barker has been recently extended and renovated to the highest standard. A very unusual high dome ceiling made of natural wood. Sliding doors open out to a very large alfresco dining area, which faces out to the tree lined main street.
Orders are taken at the bar, rather than waitress service. We found the menu extensive and interesting, including Thai, Moroccan, Pizza, Pasta, shared tasting board, steaks etc. Our choices were the chefs pasta special of the day, and from the menu Morrocan chicken salad. Both choices were absolutely delicious. The dishes were well presented and of a very generous size, great value. The Barker Hotel won the 2011 Hotel Awards, in Best Bistro Dining, Best Redeveloped Hotel, Best Bar Presentation and Service, in the Country Hotels category. All well deserved. With friendly and attentive service, it was a very enjoyable culinary experience.
I have been to The Barker Hotel a few times now each time a huge disappointment!
On my mothers birthday it took them almost an hour to bring out any food then 3 of the 8 meals with 30mins difference to the rest, we said we'd never go again. However my sister wanted to have a big event and this was the venue of choice. ...read more
