WOW.... all i can say to all these people who have left favorable comments about The Bega cheese factory is....... You all really need to get out more!!!!!.. This place is just appalling... What is the first thing people think of when you mention the town of Bega?? Cheese of course.. So cheese production is really the only thing Bega is famous for, nothing wrong with that, except that, unfortunately like Bega itself, this tourist attraction lacks any kind of imagination, warm or buzz, it is without a doubt the most boring and pitiful 'claim to fame' that any Australian country town has cobbled together... Don't bother wasting your time at this place, just keep driving thru on the newly constructed and well overdue Bega-Bypass!
We all adored the Bega Cheese Factory, the museum was engaging for the children and kept them occupied for an hour, very interactive. Finished off with a cheese toasted sandwich in the family friendly cafe, the whole trip to the factory was well worth it.
Free to walk around the museum and the children's special meal pack of $7 meant that it was a very affordable couple of hours.
For adults the cheese tasting was yummy and lots of nice things to buy and eat.....
