Hi Karl, I'm sorry you had a bad experience trying to sell books to us. As you mentioned in your review, we buy by appointment, as we receive dozens of calls a week from people looking to sell books and we are working with a limited budget. The readers of Brisbane have some fabulous books and we would love to be able to purchase them all but that is simply impossible. In order to be fair to the people who've booked in advance, we are generally unable to buy from people who come in without an appointment. We have a system that works very well, where people email through a few photos of the spines in order for me to determine whether or not they have books we would like to purchase. My wonderful staff would have outlined this to you when you first contacted us, which we do in order to prevent people from making unnecessary trips to the shop. Had you called or emailed first, as requested, I would happily have looked through your books at a time thatread more
Friendly owner who was eager to help. The shop is pretty crowded and the floors are creaky but it gives it the perfect feel for a 2nd hand shop. Very comprehensive collection but because there are so many books some of them are placed in really hard to reach and see places. A must see for book collectors!
