Yuchh! I like the Tuesday night Trivia (which is apparently outsourced to a separate entertainment company and nothing directly to do with the Bowls Club itself), and the bar staff don't always honour the prize certs either.
The food used to be good when it was authentic Italian cuisine cooked by the chef/owner.
But now it is like a substandard Chinese takeaway- in a local bowls club - I don't see the connection. The selections I have made on Trivia night have been, well, nicely put - dismal, more honestly - downright disgusting (that soggy excuse for garlic chicken should never feature on a menu anywhere!!) and to charge extra for rice -- what are you thinking!
Wow.. what a hidden gem!!
This place is more than a Bowls Club!!
The Chinese Restaurant, BayWok the meals are amazing!
Pool tables, Pokies, keno and one of the best views of the Bay!!
The drink prices are the cheapest on the Northside!!!
BareFoot Bowls is fun!!
I will be going back for sure!!
Something for everyone
It's ok but they're definitely looking for an older crowd, prices are good and staff are fantastic!! There's now a Chinese restaurant there which is good, service is fast and they do take-away.
However, karoke or a loud music group when the footy is on is a little off putting on a Friday night!!
Worth heading to for a roll up and schooners on a weekend though!!
Absolutely woeful! Went for dinner on Saturday night arriving at 6pm. The advertised desserts were nowhere to be seen. Against my better judgement I ordered pizza. At $14.95 I expected something comparable to Zorba's pizza or at the very least the size of a family-size pizza. Nooooooooo! What we received were approximately the size of a very small dinner plate or an entree plate but not quite as small as a bread and butter plate. Totally tasteless. There was approximately one and a half pizzas left out of 3 so I asked to take them home and was told I would have to pay an extra dollar for the box!!
If you want to leave someone with a nasty taste in their mouths and a bad impression of you - take them to the Bramble Bay Bowls Club, otherwise, stay right away from it. There are far better places to go and much much cheaper and delicious!
Zorbas is awesome! I agree with you! Skip this place! Go to Zorba's for an excellend HUGE pizza, take home the leftovers for lunch the next day - and go home, cuddle up on the sofa and watch on old fav on DVD - for an excellent night. Save your $$ and save the dissappointment!
