Have not visited this store for some time as I normally support my local hardware but they have been forced to close due to Bunnings. So my daughter and I wondered around looking for bathroom mirrors. As I require a stick to walk and run short of breath this is a task on its own. No staff around to help direct you. Finally found the mirrors and selected a mirror that was very well priced at $19.00. We grabbed our choice and read the instructions so we were doing the right thing. It advised special adhesive for a stronger bond. Waited at a counter for help 15 minutes. Was told half way down isle 21 mate. Off we went again. Yeh right half way down to the end of the isle Christ which one. No help. Decided on a glue( hopefully ok) and went to the checkout. Only 2 open white a dozen waiting at each. But yeh there were those stupid self serve checkouts like Coles that no one uses. Finally at the checkout and paid for out purchase and as we walking out the door I thought ...read more
Better service lately. I ended up going to get the BBQ from bunnings and that time had a helpful staff member assist me with which BBQ to get. Just on the weekend I went in to ask for some advice on a laminate table I needed to fix and told them about it and showed a sample, and the man who assisted me was very helpful. Unfortunately didn't have the laminate/veneer to match, but directed me to another option that could be considered. Happy with the assistance.
Came in the other day to get a BBQ that the other half asked me about for Christmas but of course he didn't give me a lot of description of the thing besides the price and a small amount on detail. I walked into bunnings thinking I could just ask someone but I think I might have thought wrong or maybe picked the wrong person to ask, as they werent helpful at all and seemed like they just didn't want to know or actually try to help me. In the end I walked out empty handed and decided I would wait until I have the other half with me or atlases a picture of the BBQ he wanted.
I could waste an hour wandering around this store, nothing wrong with that, there's plenty to see and lots of inspiration to be had. It's almost a guarantee that they have what you're looking for. Prices are cheap but come at the cost of their customer service. If you can pin down a staff member their advice is usually very good and helpful but they seem to be a rare find. If you like good old fashioned service i'd go to your local Hardware.
I think the Parafield Bunnings is a tad weird. It has SO many things in it. Most of the time Im only going there to get something simple so I struggle to find it. I would rather go somewhere where they have everything you need - not everything in the world. It's a massive store so I guess you can qurantee you will get what you want... Not neccesarily getting it quick or easy because the workers ddon't even know where everyting is.
