The first thing you should be aware of is that the kitchen does not open until 8:00 am, so if you are looking for a really early morning breakfast unfortunately you will not be able to get it from here. Mind you, it is also a bar, so you can also stop in here for a quick drink after work, however the only reason I've ever came here is for a pot of tea and a bite to eat. The breakfast I had was not all that great, and you buy the eggs and then add extras, meaning that the price does go up the more you have, but at least you can pick and choose what you want. I do like the location though, nestled on Swanston Street in front of the council offices, but it really isn't my favourite early morning stop. Still, I'll probably come back from time to time.
An all-time favourite caf that Ive been going since my uni days, which has now eventually turned into a coffee catch up location with my now work colleagues. As far back as I could remember this caf has been around for quite a long time. What I enjoy about this place is probably more the atmosphere, there are options for seatings both inside and out. Outside you would often have entertainment directly in front with some form of street performance. Alternatively, it has also occasionally become a meeting spot at the bar for some pre drinks prior to stepping out the night. Coffee is great, however food wise I probably wouldnt be the first to raise my hands. Have tried a few of their dishes over the years, and all in all it is quite average compared to the many other options within walking distance. I would still recommend if youre after coffee or simply a place to chill out!
