My children have been going to Carcoola Primary School for over three years. The staff (Teachers, EA's and Principal) are genuinely interested in helping them to reach their potential and feel good about themselves. I've been very happy with the quality of care and education my children have received. The school did have a few issues to work on but have been going from strength to strength in the last 2 years.
Carcoola is not a good school they condone violence against women and accept bullying. A lady was attacked on Friday cos the day before after asking whose kid it was she told the other mother her child was violent toward her child and needed to face the naughty wall. The mother admitted her kid was naughty and said oh no it will not face the naughty wall. The next day the husband of the mother of the naughty child this big ex army guy attacked the lady who had said his child was naughty..stood over her screaming fists bunched swearing...at school. Yet again the gutless principle turned it so she was chastised and threatened with having to go to the office to pick and drop off her kids. Kids get suspended for hugging friends goodbye but recieve no punishment for bullying or fighting. This school has had shutdown after shutdown. Kids are made to run in rain then sit for hours in airconditioning and wet clothes. So they get sick. The policy of not going toread more
great teachers, dedicated to students, learning.
leadership lacking management, bad support for teachers/parents
do not like the current trend of parents pushing radical views see assembly's, several parents seat thru national anthem, snob other parents. requires more locals to get involved, support Aussie values and fairness to all.
Totaly agree the school has good teachers but something really needs to be done.the school seems to be going down hill
