Do not get repairs done here. I started the process in October. It is now December and I still don't have my camera. They send your camera away to Melbourne for repair which would be fine however they are completely lacking in customer service. I have had to chase them the whole time - I have updated my phone number with them more than once but they are still sending texts to an old number which no longer works to tell me my quote is ready - there is no follow up from this even though I obviously don't respond or collect my quote as I never receive the texts and apparently this is adequate customer service. I have paid $20 for a quote which has taken two months and I have only received it in the end by constantly following up.
I have never been treated the way I was at Caringbah Camera House today. I went to collect a repaired camera that cost more than double what I was told it would and took 3 weeks longer than it should have. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked for some more information on the Canon 450D and which lenses would best suit my needs. I was told that they would not give me any information unless I was buying the camera there and then. A 10 minute conversation ensued during which I felt belittled, it was the worst retail experience I have ever had. I would not step foot back in the store even if I was paid to do so.
I recently bought my camera (Canon 400D) from Caringbah Camera House. These guys know photography; they not only helped me choose a fantastic camera (which I love). When I came back needing a little photography advice, they were happy to see me! I am so impressed by the service I have received I can't help but tell everyone.
