Rose-Marie Hepponstal funeral a fiasco; the worst I have attended. 1)attendees were falling over grave stones to get near enough to hear the priest; 2) eulogies were not heard, your staff should have ensured that speakers were close enough to the mic; 3) for condolences the usual practice is to take the family into a place that is safe, not have them seated by the grave - I nearly fell into the grave trying to manoeuvre an attempt to reach the sister, Dawn. Most families depend on the funeral directors advice and you failed in this instance.
Just over two weeks ago I contacted Chipper funerals to enquire about handling my Fathers funeral. They had four days to organise absolutely everything. Upon request the coffin was professionally painted in the Western Bulldogs colours and logo, and a viewing of my Dad was organised for family members. Carmel was amazing. She was very compassionate and her tactful sense of humour really went a long way in helping the three of us during the most difficult time of our lives. Nothing was too much trouble and she must have worked tirelessly to ensure that my Dads funeral was a beautiful celebration of his life. Dads farewell although very sad, truly reflected the man he was and I know that he would have been very thankful to Carmel for organising everything so well. Jay from Chippers was the person who spoke at the funeral and he spent a couple of hours at my Mums house making sure that his speech encapsulated the life of my Dad. My family and Iread more
