This was a really nice venue. I was there for a small party and there was plenty of room. Nice little dancing area near the jukebox which was constantly on and used while also having plenty of tables to sit and chat at. (Very comfortable chairs!) The food platters had a good range of snacks and enough to keep us all going.
I went to a private function here the other week and was impressed at how well they ran it. Although the function area is dated, it does let lots of light in and the jukebox was stocked to demand (though I reckon they made more from the jukebox than drinks!). Enough space to sit and chat or be part of a group too.
They staffed the bar really well and the staff were friendly, never had to wait for a drink despite ours being a smaller group, and their function drinks prices were generous. Nibbles platters were generous too. To be honest I wouldn't have thought of this as a function venue before but now I'd go back happily.
This is another of those pubs that I have passed hundreds of times but never actually got around to visiting until I made the effort to do so one day (and that when I was travelling around the Modbury area). As I drove past I decided to stop in for a beer, and while it was not really a bad pub, I'm certainly not going to be making an effort to come and visit this place again. It was not a pub that was laid out all that badly, and certainly the beer garden was nice, but there was not really anything that would give me the excuse to go out of my way to have a drink (or even a meal) here (unless of course friends suggest otherwise, but since they haven't in all the time I have lived in Adelaide I suspect that they won't be doing so any time soon).
This pub has been renovated on the outside & the dining room has had a coat of paint, looks nicer than it used to.
The menu is pretty good although for the size of meal we got it seemed overpriced to me. Also presentation of the meals was lacking - if you're going to charge $29 for a steak and prawns then you'd want to at least make it look like it's worth $29. We had a voucher which made it good value but I wouldn't go without one.
aste was fine 'for a pub' but didn't really match to the hype of the menu and renovations.
we went to the Clovercrest Hotel for dinner on Saturday I ordered the seafood combination $29.00 it tasted like it was straight out of the freezer with a made in overseas tag on it totally tasteless and manufactured. My partner ordered the steak with prawns crab and chilli sauce $29.00 the steak was half the size of the $23 steaks plus 4 prawns and microscopic piece of crab smothered in a chilli sauce that tasked like it was straight out of the bottle very disappointing and poor value for money
