Colin's Catch Fish and Chippery Hawthorn

So I am driving by on the way to a meeting and am looking for a place with a quick and inexpensive lunch that is NOT the major fast food chains. Saw this place and did a u turn. And I am happy that I did. The chips were quite nice. The burger with the lot was very tasty. And the value was very fair. The only negative is the parking if you turn up at busy times, but I still found a spot and if you wait then so will you

Recent change in owners has brought new life to this fish and chippery! Fish are now always fresh and cooked to absolute perfection. Staff are friendly and efficient. I'd highly recommend their potato cakes as well which are homemade (not frozen) trust me we could tell the difference!

Appalling service. Staff was so rude and confrontational I left. We had been there once before because of it's proximity to home and the service was very slow. Second visit I thought the staff was going to launch herself over the counter at me when I queried what she was going to charge me as opposed to what was on the board. Would never go back and would not advise anyone I know to bother.

Best fish chips in Melbourne. Crispy and lightly battered fish, nice chips and potato cakes, delicious burgers. Good and fast service. I would come here all the time if I lived locally. Nothing beats it.

Compared to their competitors in Glenferrie Road they don't even come close. They are more expensive, smaller portions and poor quality. I thought we'd give them a go as Aqua was closed for X-mas break, but I won't be going back to Skippers. Open Aqua! Quick!
