Nestled on the crest of Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens, over-looking Daylesford, The Convent boasts expansive views of the countryside and township below. A feast for the senses, the gallery is more than a three level haven of fine art in an historic 19th century mansion. With its decadent retail areas, Mediterranean restaurant, relaxing Altar bar and lounge, restored chapel, nuns museum, penthouse apartment and two stunning glass fronted function spaces, all surrounded by six acres of stunning gardens, this multi-award winning gallery offers endless possibilities for a unique and satisfying experience.

Beautiful gallery set in a renewed convent which features works from various local artists. The cafe does wonderful baked goodies and scones. The morrocan orange cake was beautiful and flourless. The pomegranate was a nice finishing touch. They have really friendly service too!
There is a $5 per person entry fee although a staffer said that is waived for couples who come to check it out for their weddings. OK. There is an awesome shop with all sorts of great art work and religious items, some clothes, cooking books, travel books, an assortment of local jams... for purchase. There is art work to admire and to purchase, albeit pricey. There is a cafe inside which is comfy. BUT upstairs they have a great chappel, with a garden you can walk into outside one door, a great drinks areaa and a good reception area. For small weddings I would say this venue is well wortyth a look. Parking is an issue and people must walk uphil but once there they have a small elevator if the stairs put you off. And the balconies just scream for Romeo and Juliet ior rapunzel like photos.
