I went there yesterday afternoon with Elise and I had a bit of the Cauliflower and Cheese Soup with a Bread Roll, some Chicken Schnitzel, Chips, Pork Crackling, Scallop Potatoes, Roast Vegetables and fat of the Roast Beef but I didn't like the desserts. Elise had a bit of everything. It was extremely nice of the lady to waive the cake fee of $15 since I bought a half serve of Chocolate Ripple Cake to share with Elise since it was her Birthday also Jess offered to marry me, which was extremely nice of her to do that for me. Also the price is way too expensive so I won't be coming back there.
The views are magnificent and enticing and the live entertainment is fun! The food is somewhat average although plentiful and servings are generous. There's lots of variety in the dessert section. The Cuckoo has become somewhat of an institution in the Dandenongs. It's definitely worth a visit if you haven't been and if you have visitors from out of town. I would like to see an updated menu at some point.
Hi StarWoman - great name BTW! Thanks for the 4 stars and lovely review. We are just in the midst of introducing a change to the offer with entrees to the table instead of entree buffet - and for something completely different - Friday nights are now a la carte (+dessert buffet) with various cabaret offers. Come on in and give it a try. Cheers!
Cukoo is a quirky but welcoming slice piece of Germany in the heart of theDandenongs, from ringing cow bells to yodelling this restaurant offers an authentic German experience, all you an eat German fare which is really delicious tasty food. The wurst selection reminds me of my time in Berlin. Great live entertainment, which makes this place a great place to visit if you have a large family group and are wanting to take your guests to somewhere unique and all at a reasonable price a must try especially if you are in the area.
Thanks for your review svchu1 - it's great to hear that you enjoyed your visit and that it brought back some pleasant memories for you. Cheers.
