Decks occupies a picturesque setting in the Brisbane South Bank parklands, with views of nature and glimpses of the river. The open, welcoming space is home to a modern Australian menu which focuses on fresh Australian seafood and beef, with a few vegetarian choices. Oysters, Atlantic salmon, scallops, mussels and prawns are all woven into appetising dishes, while steak is served with mash, onions and grilled tomato. A childrenâ??s menu is available.

We went and ordered from the Deck's takeaway after visiting the Lifeline Bookfest on the Sunday. The price wasn't too bad for buying meals in the CBD. The meal was well cooked, the staff very courteous, and our order came out very quickly. So by the time I got the drinks back to the table, and then wandered back to wait for my order, I only waited an extra minute. We got the $16 basket, which was good for two adults and a toddler.
