Doyles Bridge Hotel is located on the water in Mordialloc and caters to various needs throughout the day and night. It has a relaxed bar area for drinks, a café, a bistro with fresh seafood and steaks, a bottleshop and function areas. A key attraction is the outdoor seating area, ideal in summer for afternoon drinks.
Went to the cafe section for Mother's Day and surprisingly got a table instantly. Staff were polite and service was prompt however for what it is a little expensive. Ordered some tapas which was very good and delivered to the table faster than drink service. Will go back and would recommend to others.
There are actually two sections to this hotel, the main bar and a cafe that looks out onto the Mordialloc Boat Harbour. At first I thought it was only the cafe until I crossed the road to see that the pub was much bigger than I expected. However it is only the cafe that I went too, simply because you could look out onto the boat harbour. The cafe is table service only, and they aren't the cheapest place to have a beer, but the atmosphere is still quite nice, especially on a sunny afternoon. The place does feel a bit classy, however they do have a neat casual dress code. The service was quite slow though it took a while for them to bring out my beer, but I still quite like the place, especially the view over the boat harbour. Oh, and only a small section of the outdoor area is smoking so non-smokers can also enjoy sitting out on the deck (and they get the better view as well).
Average. Great location, and could be a truly great place to relax and enjoy food. Instead it always feels very noisy and the music selection is a little too hectic to be pleasant to eat to. We sampled the Mothers Day buffet breakfast (obviously Mothers don't like to order from the usual menu on their special day?!) today at over $30 per person, which was good, but not amazing. Instant coffee was included in the price. Does that kind of thing still happen in the coffee capital of Australia? Instant. Coffee. Yes, coffee, that was instant. Hard. To. Believe. It lets down the otherwise good food. This reviewer is still shaking his head and muttering instant coffee to himself. tsk tsk.
We had breakfast here around 7 weeks ago for the first time. Have gone back twice since. Pricing is great. Service is great and the breakfast is amazing.
Dinner meals are nice, and generous portions for great value . Nice view on he opened deck.
Does get very busy at times, nearly every night in the warmer months, plus restless kids (including my own) can be a little too much for some, however it is a catered based family bistro. ( i'm yet to experience a nice meal with wine and no kids for a night, but never gonna happen..Lol)
