I am a local and have been consistently disappointed with this place. Last night we joined friends for dinner here and didn't complain as it was their treat. It's a long time since I've been so I went with an open mind.
We waited ages for our food, about 40 minutes and it wasn't even that busy. Our wine came promptly but wasn't chilled, our squid starter was burnt and my partners linguine was undercooked. He said he had the distinct impression the sauce was out of a jar and from my own experience I am sure they don't ever use fresh garlic. I cook with garlic every day and never have that foul acrid taste in my mouth afterwards like I do there. We definitely won't be back. On the plus side, the waitress was very sweet
I read some reviews and was sceptical of what to expect. To my delight, I had the best meal of my life. Service was prompt. Good value for money a real hidden gem. Cannot recommend the food highly enough. The barramundi was cooked to perfection, garlic prawns was very flavoursome and beef fillet was succulent..... and the gelato .... just devine.Highly reccomend to anyone visiting Port Macquarie.
