I also had a terrible experience with Everything but Flowers and will not be using them again. I ordered a gift for my Mother in Law a week in advance of her birthday, for the gift to be delivered on her birthday only to receive an email from Everything but Flowers on the day that the delivery was supposed to be made to advise me that they had run out of that product and a delivery would not be made. They left me in the lurch, had they informed me in advance I could have made other arrangements.
Had a terrible experience. Still waiting for a refund. Ordered 7 items. After first one, I received an email with a "discount voucher code", but it didn't work. So called customer service and they placed the order manually well that was a mistake! Four days later and 4 phone calls later, they could still not give me a reason why the order had not been approved, and they could not find anyone to approve it. So, with no guarantee that the order would go through, I cancelled the order since it was clear it would not arrive in time for Christmas from this company. I told them to cancel and that I was placing an order with another company (which I did). Another 5 days later and I receive an email saying the order had been dispatched. What??? I called back and spoke to someone and asked for a refund since I had cancelled the order. The staff told me the order had not been cancelled so "what would I like to do about it?". Absolutely disgusting experience - Don't be lured by cheap prices! I ordered a gift for my wife, labelled "Express Shipping" / "Next Day Dispatch" 8 days before Christmas, but the order status still showed "on order", 2 days later. When I called Customer Service, was told it had shipped the same day, but their system does not update in real-time. Today, Friday before the Christmas weekend, I finally received an email to say "Item has shipped"! I called customer service again to ask what is going on, and was told the warehouse printed the label last week, but only shipped it today. After being told 3 times the item shipped last week, I am really disappointed and now need to find a last-minute gift. This company uses drop shipping warehouses with no stock-control or real-time systems, there is no email support, and very long hold-times. This is the worst online store I have come across in over 10 years. Never again!
