very rude owner and lots of hidden fees! They charge a lot extra hidden fees upon return of vehicle. Like the other customers said, a little bit of dirt and they charge you a cleaning fee. You can’t expect a sparkling clean car after 10 days of usage. The instruction for return of vehicle was very unclear as well. They told us it’s suggested to return at 8am since our flight was at 1030am. However we didn’t want to rush so early and their opening time said 830am. So we stopped on the way over to fill up the gas tank and arrived at 815am. The owner was VERY VERY RUDE! He said we missed the shuttle at 8 and have to charge us an extra $40 for another transfer to the airport. First of all the lady didn’t tell us that it was an appointment to be here at 8am and their opening time is stated 830am. We never knew about the fine and the shuttle fixed time, all hidden from us. Grant was really generous organising a deal for us for a runaround whilst we were setting up our holiday pad in Miami. We leased a Nissan Micra which did the job getting us up to Logan IKEA & back again.
This business also offers complimentary airport pickups which is really convenient.
Looking forward to leasing from these guys again as they're just around the corner!

Firstly, I have never written a review in my life but I left it necessary to do so to hopefully help others avoid the worst customer experience I have ever received. I work in the retail industry so am more than familiar with what good customer service should be, unfortunately the owner Grant at family Car Rentals does not. He is astonishingly rude, accusing, slanderous and hot tempered. We had mechanical issues with the car rental so called the hotline to seek help, instead of offering apology or guidance we were faced with a malicious, hot temped owner screaming down the phone accusing us of causing the mechanical faults. After 20mins on the phone the owner offered to replace the vehicle if we made the 6 hour round trip back to the office, when we declined to take this time out of our holiday he advised us to fix the mechanical fault ourselves. Rang this company for a quote first and when they couldnt supply me with the car i required i went with another company. shortly after booking i received a phone call from one of their employees who then berated me and told me that i was rude and wasted his time even though the only reason i went elsewhere was due to the fact i couldnt get the car i required from there. i now know why this company has terrible reviews across the internet due to horrible customer service. never again!! DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY!!
