What is Orthopractics?
Orthopractics offers an alternative to manipulation. An orthopractor is a "body corrector". Orthopractics is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy, which is highly effective in working with chronic stress, injuries, pains or problems associated with postural and structural imbalances.
The practitioner uses gentle movement and positioning of the body to facilitate the change of stress and pain patterns. A strong focus is placed on the comfort of the individual; no forceful adjustments are used. A client may also wish to use home exercises that can further facilitate the neuromuscular re-education process begun in the session.
Orthopractics is a complete system of musculo-skeletal therapy. It stimulates the body's self-corrective and self-balancing reflexes located in our joints and muscles. The practitioner uses simple movements and gentle compression to find positions of comfort, which allow the body to change the stress and pain patterns which cause the discomfort. With the addiiton of trigger points and safe and proven mobilizing techniques, Orthopractics stimulates inner awareness to awaken a sense of natural balance and well being, both physically and emotionally.
