It took 3 months to get an electrical compliance certificate off them for months after installing an air conditioner. It also took me 2 months to get the plumbing compliance certificate off them.
I eventually did manage to get an electrical certificate off them after I refered my complaint to energysafe which called them the next day. Only then did they send out a technitan out from a different company afetr hours free of charge to check the unit which needed 2 hours of work rewiring the entire unit to bring it up to the point where he would issue the certificate.
This means I was using a air conditioner that was non-complient for 3 months.
What if the inpropper wiring burned down my house?
Also they nearly didn't show up on the day they installed it (they only came after I called to see where they were but they were still an hour late).
Called to enquire as to whether they could supply a no obligations quote and was interrogated loudly and at length as to whether me and my partner were paid for our labour. Incredibly rude telephone manner. They could have just said no or that they charge for quotes.
I've just joined TrueLocal to provide a critique of this business. DO NOT USE! I've just spent almost 9 months dealing with them over a simple warranty issue. They were quick to send a technician around to diagnose the problem but then because it was a warranty issue, they couldn't have cared less. There were repeated phone calls, excuses and just plain indifference from the main person I contacted at Grech. Even a direct visit to the shop didn't produce a result. After going directly to the a/c supplier and distributor, who astonished at how bad Grech were, they repaired the unit and couldn't have been more helpful. If you are contemplating supporting a local business, do not use this one!
In all my professional experience dealing with contractors, I've never dealt with people quite as rude and lacking in initiative as them. The management staff who provided the quote, and the accounts staff, were abrupt and lacked professionalism in the way they communicated. Their accounts staff, needs to attend Basic Phone Etiquette 101. I'd be very, very surprised if they have any returning clientele!
Recently had these guys out. Mishaps with communication between office and tradesmen on appointment dates resulted in another weeks delay. Paid $165 to be advised we need new ducts and received quote $500 dearer than other businesses who would have provided the quote for free! Two stars only because the tradesmen were polite and seemed professional.
