Pretty disappointed overall. Staff were pleasant though some training not to reach accross someone eating to get an empty glass wouldn't go a miss!! At least the plates were left until everyone had finished eating, which seems a rare thing nowadays in a Perth. Food- Chicken schnitzel, very average, tasted like a deep fried mass produced meal you could get in any fast food place, the extra topping of garlic prawns- again tasted like mass produced cheap garlic sauce, but at least it added some moisture to the meal. Tortalini, nothing special, lacked flavour by again using what seemed like the same sauce for the garlic prawns. Pumpkin salad, nice but a bit heavy on the oily dressing, warm roasted pumpkin would make this meal something special instead of cold boiled pumpkin. Bruschetta - average flavour, on average garlic bread, better quality & flavour tomatoes would make a difference plus by adding a decent amount of basil which was very clearly missed ...read more
My family & I suffered through the WORST meals to crawl from a kitchen. As we live overseas & my husband was due to leave early the next morning we in hind sight did the wrong thing a tried to eat the slop. The rocket on top of my husbands linguine was yellow & dead! Obviously the "cook" has no pride in their work. I'm still traumatised by the most bizarre gnocchi I've had the misfortune to try & eat. My Granddaughter was offered overcooked chicken "tender". The staff, even though they were polite could have gone that little bit extra but alas I think the malaise comes from the top.
I have been going to The Greenwood for many years now. The food is great and they have an extensive range of Beers, Wines and Cocktails. The drawkey to The Greenwood for me would be the Sports Bar, whether an AFL match or a Danny Green Boxing match the atmosphere is electric. I can't wait to visit The Greenwood for the World Cup Soccer matches, especially since they have gone to the effort to show all the late night matches.
The Greenwood used to be known for it's food: oh my was it delicious! Huge meals, affordable prices, nice service - it was always booked out and won many well-deserved awards. But alas, it has suffered the fate of many restaurants and gone downhill over the years.
The menu has been shrunk down. The barramundi is accompanied by chips and salad instead of a delicious saffron mash. The meals have also been shrunk ...read more
