Hog's Breath Café Holden Hill

We are frequents at the Glenelg and have eaten at hoggies around Australia and love it... this is the only resteraunt that is totally horrid. the experience has been so poor twice in a row, and funnily enough its owned by the same people as glenelg. whatever your doing there change it! the food is sub par, the chef fails to even get mashed potato right with it being lumpy and horrid even when sent back it came back the same. For an extremely expensive meal its not worth it and the worst part is after complaining to staff we didnt recieved any form of remuneration or an appology even though my meal was sent back twice. Instead just a card to fill out making a complaint which I have heard nothing back from months ago. would not reccomend at all...drive the extra and go to gelenlg, oweners...sort out your sub par issues at this site!

This was our second visit in 12 months. On BOTH occasions the meals took far too long to be served with tables seated after us being served before us. Tonight's visit saw it take over two hours to receive the main course with three of our guests having to leave before being served because it was getting too late in the night.



We will not be going there again.

There's no doubt that they do fantastic food here. I'm not sure it's worth the price, but if someone else offered to pay I wouldn't say no ;-) Always had friendly staff, and it doesn't often get busy. Unique layout of the restaurant (which doesn't really make for privacy), worth a visit but not with that special someone or someone you want to argue quietly with!

Ive been craving to go to Hogs Breath because its been a while so decided to take my partner here on his birthday two weeks ago for dinner. We had a great night! Hes not a big fan of hogs breath because last time years ago they overcooked his steak, but this time, it was perfect. He enjoyed it very much. And of course i got my potato skins and cheese sticks! Delicious!! The staff were nice and friendly and I managed to sneak off for a second and asked our waitress if they did any like birthday suprizes or cakes and she said yes and will tee something up for me for when we finish dinner. I didnt know at all what it was, I was just thinking maybe a little cake with a candle but to my suprize and of course also the birthday boys I saw a little plate of cake with sparklers coming towards our table and then 6 staff members all came out of nowhere and gathered around our table and started singing happy birthday to my partner! For a steak joint to serve up over cooked steak is plainly unacceptable. I ordered my steak "medium" it came out very well done and expensive as wellð???
