Hog's Breath Cafe themed restaurants cater to all ages with a casual menu based on hearty favourites such as prime rib steaks, burgers, ribs and parmas.
The last time we visited a Hog's Breath Cafe was years ago, and I remembered it was noisy and the wait for the food was long but since hubby has this massive craving for ribs I was happy to give it another go.
We arrived at around 6 pm on Saturday on the Queen's birthday long weekend and the restaurant was only partially full. We were seated immediately by a lovely waitress and got given the menu. Once we put through our order, the food came within 10mins.
The pork belly pasta dish we ordered was great and the pork ribs were quite yummy, even though we both admitted we had better. The downfall was the veggies that came with the ribs, the corn was not sweet nor juicy. All the veggies felt like something out of the frozen aisle in the supermarket. The hogs tail friesread more
Usually it has been ok however tonight myself and 5 others had dinner with 2 kids meals taking 30 minutes to come out and a further 1 hour later the adults got their meals. We got to the cafe at 7.15 and only got our meals at 9pm!!!! My husbands meal of rib eye steak and veggies was not the best. The meat was fine however corn was still frozen in middle and potato was cold as was the other veggies. We're now on our way to get another meal to fill the wholes of the food we couldn't eat there
Ate Lunch at this Cafe Yesterday with my Partner. On way to our table my feet kept sticking to the floor, obviously had not been cleaned properly ( or recently ) (keeping in mind this was lunch time and place was near empty). Sat down on table only to discover how grotty everything was. Menu's was covered in grease, salt and pepper shakers also covered in crease. Walls were covered in Sauce that looked like had been there for sometime. Was very off putting. Once food arrived disappointment continued, chicken was overcooked, chewy and near inedible. Steak was also over-cooked and chewy.
Best part about the whole thing where our cokes.
Would recommend hog's breath, but definitely would never recommend this particular one.
Hoggs Breath is great! I have been to several of them in NSW and never dissappointed. The Shellharbour one I go to every few weeks. I discovered this review site by accident when I was looking for the phone number and was surprised by some negative comments. I think for the price the food, service and ambience is excellent. Yes occasionally during the busiest moments you migth wait an extra few mins for food but the service is exceptional.. the staff are great and special thanks to Shannon. Best waiter in town!
Had a meal here recently and it was the worse case of customer service I have experienced in a while. I actually had to ask if we were required to go to the bar and get our own drinks. The sharing entree meal comes with 3 pieces of each of the foods, however as we were a group of 4 and we would have liked to order this, the request to add another piece of each of the foods was " no we cannot do that " the award winning steak was overcooked and tough. The chicken parmargiana was 2 pieces of chicken snitzel with tomato paste placed on the top and then sprinkled with parmesen cheese, because the snitzels were placed on top of each other the bottom one had no topping and basically a chicken snitzel. The staff who seated us we saw twice our main was served without the entree plates being cleared. We were looking forward to the dessert however we passed and went to the Ice Creamery. The restuarant was not busy for a Sunday, there was actually onlyread more
