Unfortunately I signed up with Kim to do a kitchen/carpet/flooring package. I put a claim in with the Building Commission and this has been going on for two years. We have had some of the issues remedied but he refuses to replace our laminate flooring. We were going to go ahead with a Inspection Report, then suddenly my case officer at the BC asked what amount I would like to end it. I gave him the cost of the flooring and his reply was:
"There is always the option for a monetary resolution to a complaint, however the amount is not based on the amount that you paid for a building service, read more
Sadly, we have had a similar experience to all those other disappointed customers. Kim demanded we pay upfront for our wood flooring. Six months later when it had finally arrived from Malaysia, he told us the wood had been water damaged and therefore not able to be laid. He refused to refund us our money and said our only option was to select from his other available products ... and there was only one choice. We ordered and paid for 19mm solid blackbutt but we ended up with 14mm engineered board. We agree or lose $17000. Repeatedly we asked Kim for a receipt but he promised "it's in the mail" but you guessed it, it never came. I went there in person many times and he fobs you off. He gets his guys to lay the floor (poorly in some areas) and wants payment before the job is even complete. Stay away people, he is not someone you want to do business with!
I am currently suing Perth Home Renovations in the builders tribunal for breach of contract and porr work performance, for a kitchen that he walked out on. He charged my credit card $16,800, and we have about $3,000 worth of product at best.
I have already lodged our claim and am in the final stages of presenting further evidence and a report as to the poor work quality, non performance and non delivery ofread more
Our kitchen was delayed time and time again for no apparent reason. As soon as our deposit was paid demeanour changed. Refused to supply written contract. There were more than 5 no shows on days they promised to do work, and then when asked why I was told I wasn't their only customer. We paid for a complete kitchen. Tap set was not supplied. oven surround was not supplied. Bench top was not what we ordered, range hood was not what we ordered, oven was not what we ordered. Dishwashers are a standard 310mm wide, so they made the space exactly 310mm, but slightly less toward the back so dishwasher is basically wedged in. There is a 3 inch gap between cupboards and bench top. Cupboard doors had misaligned gaps etc. Plumbing was not marked so plumber had to dismantle part of our brand new kitchen to find plumbing. Kitchen is just over two years old and hinges are breaking and kitchen is falling apart, it's essentially rubbish and we will soonread more
I agree with the comments below about Kim, but not his team. The least Kim is, is incompetent, but you could add lazy and greedy to the list. He is very helpful until you sign up, and then it is impossible to get any paperwork from him, despite repeated requests for it. He does indeed blame everybody else when things go wrong, and he will not correct mistakes, but is very keen to take your money. So my advice is go somewhere else. The shame is that most of the people working for him are very nice and helpful, with the exception of the plumber, but they are not supported by Kim.
