This is basically the place that the visitors to Rottnest Island come for a beer. I'm not going to suggest inhabitants because technically there are none, with the exception of some service staff and the park rangers. It is a pretty classy affair, which does go with the nature of the island, but it does stand out a bit from a lot of the other buildings scattered about. It was originally the governer's mansion, but, obviously, has since been turned into a hotel. They have a large outdoor area and a good range of beers on tap. Unfortunately, it really is one of the very few places to go on the island for a drink.

The Bar at Hotel Rottnest is well decked out with loads of seating inside and outside with Quokkas and a Peacock roaming the bar grounds. Broad selection of alcoholic beverages available at tourist prices. Simple but nice food menu offering fish & chips, burgers and pizza’s. Our meals were served in a timely manner. The food was good and the service was friendly.

This is the way to do Rottnest in style, after swimming all day and bike riding it's nice to come back to a bit of luxury
