The view, museum and gift shop was gorgeous but the positives stop there for the tea rooms. The prices were excessively high! The food not worth the money we spent portion-wise and tasted bland!! and The staff from the tea shop were rude! After finding a hair in my child's meal there was a quick "oh sorry" but no offer to rectify or offer or recommence. Severely disappointed when everywhere else we have been in the area has been so great! The tea rooms really let down the whole experience up there n let a sour taste in our mouths.
I ate recently at the tea rooms and was really surprised by the cost of their meals. On the day I visited, I ordered a small slice of toasted gluten free bread with ham & cheese (this came with a small amount of salad on the side) for $13.95.
Visited here early Sunday morning, but didn't mind the wait while they opened up, as the views over Nelson's Bay were spectacular. Very popular little place as it filled up in no time, but were able to grab a table. The wait for our order wasn't too bad considering everyone was/had ordered at once. The milkshakes were icy cold and made the old fashioned way - very impressed. The service was great, all the girls were very friendly - even if they were a little rushed. Neat and tidy, just lovely to sit back, enjoy the fresh air and the gorgeous views. I'd suggest timing your visit as it gets very busy!
This is a lovely location, views are fantastic,we went at a luchtime on sunday.the service lacked a bit,we ordered then waited 1/2 hr before someone realized we hadnt been fed.they then took another 10mins to bring out 2 bowls of soup,so was not impressed.but on the good side the food was wonderful, cost was very fair.enjoyed ourselves but disapointed by the wait, maybe it was a bad day.i would reccomend it.
