When searching for singing and dancing classes for my daughter, I was searching for a place where my daughter would be allowed to be herself, sing and dance to the best of her ability and most importantly have lots of fun! I, myself, did competitive dancing and promised I would never put my daughter through the same stress and pressure that I went through. From the first day my daughter attended a trial at Jaksa, I knew I had found the perfect place. The studio is fabulous! From day one, Jahn welcomed us into the Jaksa family and, although we have only been attending Jaksa for over a year now, it feels like we have known Jahn and the lovely Jaksa team for a lot longer. Over the past year, my daughter has done ballet, tap, jazz, singing and drama lessons and all her teachers have been fantastic – very talented, passionate, supportive and encouraging!
As a student at Jaksa, I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone who loves singing, dancing, music lessons and/or acting. 2017 will be my 9th year coming to Jaksa, mostly because I love the teachers and students there. Everyone is so friendly and positive to be around, which allows me to have fun whilst learning new skills and techniques each week. Jaksa is definitely a place that creates triple threats and young stars, as the teachers there constantly encouraging us to take opportunites in local theatre and performance opportunities. If you live locally, or even an hour away like I do, I would definitely recommend this studio for your children, or even yourself, as there are many classes that suit many ages, for example they provide Junior, Senior and Adult classes.
When Jaksa started an adult singing class last year I had to join in. It was something I'd always wanted to do. It was a fun class and Jahn took us from a nervous, waivering start to confidently singing songs with harmonies. At the end of the year we were able to belt out our song with choreograghy at the yearly concert.
It was obvious that Jahn and her teachers put their heart and soul into the classes and the atmosphere is caring and nurturing. Jahn makes sure that costumes and dance moves are age appropriate and the emphasis is on fun.
I highly recommend this studio to kids and adults with a dream to perform. I'll be back in 2017.
If you are looking for a place to see your child shine then Jaksa is the place to go. There is no pressure to be the best, the philosophy behind the school supports each child to try and be their very best. I have 2 children who between them attend drama, musical theatre and singing and they both love it.
My daughter has been attending Jaksa for the last two years and in that time her ability, confidence and enjoyment in singing have all increased. She has also developed some lovely friendships with other students. Jahn is kind, generous with her time, incredibly supportive of achievements and lets each student's individual talents shine. We had tried a couple of other studios before Jaksa, but this is the best by far, it has a real family feel and students are encouraged and given some fantastic opportunities. I cannot recommend Jaksa highly enough.
