I typically avoid the lowest quote. After receiving five quotes I asked Michael why NBR was the most competitive and he was able to articulate his value proposition clearly and explained why he was able to deliver the most competitive job whilst maintaining quality in a timely fashion. From the get go the communication was consistent, timely and kept us in the loop. The entire team (I think I counted 5 different teams) where friendly, considerate, efficient and engaged. The process didn't stop moving, and there was work being carried out each day and on time as explained. My bathroom wasn't easy and there were a few surprises and challenges that were handled well and without a fuss. NBR even took control of defects that wasn’t theirs, which originated from my own bathroom furniture supplier, again without complaint or delay. I am not one to complain.. but here I go. Organised a quote which was all managed professionaly and quickly, they came out very punctual and polite. Promised a quote by the end of the week..
I have called twice and they are not returning my calls, the quote promise is now running into the 3rd week and no communication. If by chance you are reading this, please know clients are happy for you to say "we don't want the job" this would come off more professional than just ignoring your client. Annoyed and dismayed.
We are very happy with the experience we've had with NBR. The management of the project was great. After deciding what we wanted, Michael organised all of the other necessities leaving us to sit back and watch with no worries. Each of the tradesman turned up as required and were friendly and helpful when I had questions and concerns (or simply changed my mind about what I wanted, being nothing but courteous and trying to make sure we got what we wanted). I liked that each of them would show me their work to make sure I was happy with the progress before departing the property. The tiling job in particular was fantastic.
Terrible. Once renovation began Michael was never on site to manage staff. Had multiple issues like cracked tiles and screws and nails protruding into a joining rooms. 6mths later bathroom was leaking. Took 6 weeks to fix leak with little to no contact except for a few aggressive emails from Michael. As a result of the 2nd repair job there are large cracks along grout in shower entry I brought this up with staff and was told they wouldn't be able to fix it but could fill it with more grout. 2 years later bathroom looks like rubbish with cracked grout and loose tiles. Cannot fathom having to deal with NBR to try and have them fix their apparently 6yr guaranteed work. I think they give this guarantee hoping that they will wear people down enough that they won't have the energy to come back and try and get problems fixed. It certainly was the case with us. $15k down the drain.
After the above they have offered to come back and correct issues. i declined.
If anyone is considering a bathroom renovation, I literally could not recommend Newcastle Bathroom Renovators highly enough.
Mick went way above and beyond what he needed to, and only charged what he quoted (which was so much cheaper than the other quote I got). And there were no surprise costs, even though there was some extra unexpected work he had to do and organise along the way!
His communication was perfect, giving me constant updates. And the work was done perfectly with amazing attention to detail. He makes sure everything happens quickly too.
Definitely worth getting him to come and do a quote for you
My wife and I were a little nervous renovating our bathroom as it was a first. Michael and the NBR Team put everthing in perspective and us at ease. The boys did a great job they were professional on time and very clean. We will be definatly using NBR for our next project and recommending this company to our friends.
