Tucked away in Kurrajong Heights, Lochiel House, built in 1825 by former convict Joseph Douglas, serves up delicious modern european food, focusing on 'Nose to Tail' eating. Had a lovely lunch here on a great Sunday afternoon; mains and dessert.
Would say it is way more than "45 minutes from Sydney" for most Sydneysiders though.
Food and service were excellent.
My big bugbear though is that the 5% surcharge for Saturdays ...read more

A really nice place that has high quality food and their speciality is their dessert. They have a nice garden if you want to sit outside as well. My fave is their Rosemary Roasted Lamb Rack and Not Your Sundae with strawberry swirl ice cream, banana brulee, seasonal fruit, banana praline and chocolate wafer. This delightfull cafe has great service and a delightful menu, situated in easily excessable area of the Heights and well worth the drive and dining experience.Great for a quiet night out.
