The environment here is pleasant, but it can get cold as much of the dining area is exposed to the patio. There's a warm fire which helps. It can get busy too, so booking a table is a good idea. The food is great - my companion and I enjoyed a beautifully tender Lamb Shank, Cured Asparagus and Green Beans, all very nice. The food came quickly too. The service is a bit much though - they will take things away or start clearing before diners are finished, not good - perhaps they don't have enough to do. Otherwise it's nice here.
Not too much I can say about this joint.
Ludlow's pretty - perched up on the harbour beside a thousand similar looking bars. Not saying it's a bad place, but not very unique. It's pretty enough with the dim lighting and comfy seating.
There was also this weird thing with curtains. Don't know how I feel about it. Kinda made a dim room darker. Also, they weren't, like, expensive looking curtains. It looked like they were made from fishnet stockings.
In hindsight it was kinda whack, don't know what was going on with the curtains BUT it could be cool on a busy night... I guess?
The drinks were a little pricey but the red I had wasn't too bad. (accidental rhyme. promise.)
staff were nice enough, no drama.
but yeah. good enough place.
Loved the seafood and the attentive service and ambience! The views of the river and city make it a perfect spot to relax and unwind or have a romantic evening. I found the food to be good value overall, another first for Southbank! You can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food has an international feel with Greek, Chinese and French-style dishes.
