Our dog, a 15 year old family member got sick suddenly and unexpectedly. Our consultants Sandy and Brett did an outstanding job in balancing the welfare of the dog and our emotions. For example, when our dog was distressed, as were we, Brett had gently guided the dog away from us to give injections, as we were in no state to assist. They exhausted every reasonable avenue to ease my dog's suffering in the most compassionate way. Sadly, my dog took a turn for the worst and he needed to put to sleep at night time. Sandy, the other vet consultant, was very quick with her response to assist. Even after my dog was put to sleep, her compassionate an empathetic approach made the process as tolerable as possible.
Thanks so much for your kind words, Konrad. I was just glad I was able to be there to help you out when it was needed. Often we never hear how a pet owner has felt about going through such a tough situation. I appreciate your taking the trouble to give some feedback about that. Kinds regards and best wishes, Sandy
I've been going to this vet for years but after today I will not be going again. I have given them the benefit of the doubt in the past about a lump on her chin. We were initially told that it was nothing and could easily be taken off when she was desexed. When she came out of the operation they'd left it there even though we had asked for it to be removed and said that it was now finiculitis and that all we had to do was give her anti-biotics and it would go away. It still hasn't gone away a year later and apparently is just a harmless lump that should've been taken off in the desexing. We have recently taken her to the vet to get her yearly shots and health check and it was horrible. The vet hardly did a health check, not looking at her hips, eyes or mouth and pulling her ear to turn her around. It was uncomfortable and negative and I just felt like she was in a rush to get us out. It was the final straw never to go back.
